A Neighbor in Need

An 83-year-old woman with pulmonary disease was struggling to breathe in the midst of a very hot and very humid Savannah, Georgia summer. Without air conditioning, she was truly suffering. Seeing her burden, her family banded together to buy her a small window unit. But after only a few short weeks the unit was stolen. A social worker, well aware of the dire situation, reached out to Hospice Angels for assistance. In doing so, it was discovered that the home supported a central air system that had broken many years prior. With the help of a few good citizens, Hospice Angels was able to rewire the home to support central air. And the patient was able to leave freely enjoying her home and her family in her final days.
